Are we all addicts? The morning after...

28th June 2012

From Viagra to Salvia, Cherry delved into the world of uppers, downers and lifestyle-altering drugs. After a quick check-up to clear her of any pre-existing medical conditions, Cherry went out to meet a variety of pill-poppers to find out whether quick-fix drugs are the solution to life’s problems.

“So understandable,” Cherry tweeted after the show, “who doesn't want a short cut?! It's only sensible really! If only it really worked....”

For the low down on legal highs and supposed quick-fix drugs for thinner thighs, watch episode 2 of How to Get a Life on the BBC iPlayer.

Cherry Healey: How To Get A Life is on Wednesdays at 9pm - BBC3.

  • After watching the show last night, it makes me think even more that Salvia should be banned, my partner used to smoke cannabis regularly and has given up now (thank god and well done to him) but he tried Salvia once as an alternative, he smoked it, collapsed, landed so hard on his bed he broke it, Imagine if he wasn't stood by his bed? He could have seriously injured himself. It's dangerous, but because it's deemed legal people think it's safe when it 100% not. On a lighter note, I love your shows, a refreshing take on serious subjects! Keep doing what you're doing! x

  • Anyone with Stevie's problem (erection dysfunction)
Should check out The Food Hospital's website and apply! They could really help! x

  • Cherry you are the best! xxx Aneta

  • Think you just nailed it when you said in relation to Stevie that you are annoyed he was given such strong drugs rather than the psychotherapy based help he clearly needed.. It's the same for the masses of people suffering from depression.. Solution .. Give them anti depressants not cure the cause.

    • Well said - been happening to me for the last 9 years x

  • Loved the show, it was brilliant. Definitely will be following more!!

  • Loved this program last night, i have a friend with a similar problem to Stevie how do i find out the contact details for the hypnosis centre he went to as this would be a big help??

  • Is there any way of finding out what the psychiatrist is called/ any way of contacting him? The one that helped with the erection dysfunction? any info would be great, thanks.

  • Where in London was the dance class that was featured in your programme? x

  • This was a bit of a scary look at drugs! I've always deemed salvia to be relatively risk free and not a problem, but after watching this I think I will be adding it to my list of things not to do!! I think the differences between cannabis and salvia should be made a lot clearer to people before trying it! x

  • Loving your series, so good!! Just one question, where is your top from this episode from? I love it!! Looking forward to the next episode xx

  • Great episode Cherry, I used to smoke a lot of cannabis especially when I was studying, soon enough I was getting too paranoid to smoke it. Having not smoked for 2 years, I tried salvia for fun with a friend, and I had the most horrendous time! I thought I was going to die and the world was going to end, I even thought I was having a heart attack and didn't know what to do with myself, the effects were so strong that this trip lasted for 20mins but even after this I had to spend the rest of the day in bed recovering! I know the drug can effect people in different ways, but personally, after my try, I think it should be banned! x

  • Does anyone know where Cherry's blue top is from?

    I LOVE IT!
