Thank you...

30th June 2012

It's always nerve-wracking before a programme goes out - but it's a huge relief when so many people get in touch to say they enjoyed it and ask questions or have comments. So far episode 1&2 have definitely been the catalyst for a few interesting debates...

We're doing the voice-overs for the final programmes at the moment, so I am consuming a huge amount of coconut water. It's perfect as it gives me loads of energy (sometimes the voice sessions last 8 hours - that's a lot of intense speaking!) and makes sure my throat doesn't 'go froggy' (as the series exec often says!).

ps. I promise I am not in any way at all sponsored by a coconut water brand!!! I am just in love.

  • I love coconut water! So healthy and stops me snacking on chocolate because it feels like a lovely treat yet is so so good for you!

I love your programmes, they are fascinating and I love people and learning how different people live and what their opinions are on different topics. I love nothing more than curling up in front of the TV to watch what I know will be a very entertaining AND informative programme, I actually wish I had your job and your hub is amazing!!

I'd love for you to do a programme about the raw food movement/veganism, I'm trying to be vegan and it's really interesting how against it people are yet it seems to be the most beneficial diet for us. It also links in to being image/health conscious and the obesity problem, it's interesting how being vegan is a quite taboo (as I'm finding out!) yet at the same time it does seem to be shredding it's "weird hippy" image. I think you could give a really interesting insight into it because you are so diplomatic and open minded x

  • mAKE ME A SAMMICH!

  • Cherry, I love you! I can tell you the moment it happened - when you admitted that after filming you had gone out and bought slimming pills!

I have a long history with body image issues and eating disorders, and despite my experience and knowledge I found myself in exactly the same position this week. I have been fixated by Jodie Marsh's transformation and quite awed by her achievement. So, after a spell of following her on twitter and googling images from her body building comps (this is starting to sound a little suspect, sorry!) I found myself on her website eagerly awaiting the release of her sell out slimming pills at £30 bottle!

WHAT was I thinking. The mere hint of a quick fix and I was lusting after a bottle of pills with nothing more exciting in them than caffeine and rather benign doses of other stimulating compounds. All this lust after a product I know wont work for a result that won't make me happy! The only way she got that body was through sheer bloody hard work - the girl hasn't even had a drink since Feb! I'd much rather spend that £30 on SHOES!

The program was ACE. Why do we want a quick fix? Why aren't we prepared to work for our goals, for happiness? Why can't we be ok as we are? Why do we always turn to a pill? AMAZING. I've never taken anything illegal, it just doesn't appeal, but promise it'll make me thin and I'll take anything....but that's a whole other show entirely, and i think you've already covered this topic well! I shall stop, I could go on forever, but I will just say I think you're ace, I have a bit of a girl crush if I'm honest!
