BBC Three: How To Get A Life - Can Your Looks Change Your Life?

3rd July 2012

Have looks become more important than personality in today's world? Is vanity is a negative concept?

In the third episode of How To Get A Life, Cherry meets people who obsess about their looks and those who deny the notion of beauty altogether.

Whilst facing the dilemma of whether she should stop shaving her body hair, Cherry also decides whether she’s prepared to have a tattoo…

Ahead of tomorrow night's episode, you can now listen to Cherry discussing "Lookism" with BBC Radio 4's Jane Garvey on Woman's Hour

    • Sorry Cherry:) I just bought one at urban outfitters in East London- brick lane..rush if u want 1, although they r veeery well hidden. Good luck!;)

  • Hey Cherry great program. Interesting the topic on women being Au-natural...hairy why not? The model of the world that most people have with the exception of a few is outside in rather than being inside out.

It's a bit like wearing a jumper inside out all the attention and focus is on the outside. Where we need to have our focus on the inside. Cherry you said that you started to not care what people think about your hairiness. Which you found empowering thats because your beginning to value your own opinion more than what others think and why wouldn't you.
    Kind Regards
    Harry

    xxxxxxx

  • I watch the bit about not shaving your arm pits and legs ect. I wanted to be with the girls and say it was good that they feel that way. But I was thinking that if one had very bushy eye brows or bad facial hair. They would have done something about it. Hairy arm pits and legs are ugly. For me it away of saying Im not ugly when I do this grooming.
