How to Get a Life: Work & Play

18th July 2012

"So tonight the question is, do we work and play too hard?

What are the consequences of being too busy? I stalk a stockbroker who lives off caffeine and only sleep 4 hours a night - I nearly had a heart attack trying to keep up with his caffeine intake!

I learn to podium dance with some professional party-goers, individuals paid to get clubbers in the party spirit and later chat to a group of lads who regularly blow their week’s wages in one night of debauchery.

I also met with someone that I think is possibly the UK’s busiest mum – she’s single and has 4 jobs. But after a serious health scare, will she decide to slow down?"

  • I think it's all about the chemicals. Intense activity produces a 'high' to which we become addicted. A1 type personalities are particularly susceptable. I should know. Can't stop to chat ...

  • I was a bit confused over the chicken factory boys. If they spent all their money on a Friday night, how did they pay their bills? Or did they live at home with mummy?

Also, I appreciate you may want to guard your family's privacy, but I found it hard to fully understand your empathy as a working parent without further insight. For example, after your night at the club, did you then have to stay up to look after your child? If you mention your domestic situation, surely you should enlighten the viewer further to properly compare you with the workaholic single dad. Alternatively, if you want privacy, keep your own situation out of the commentary completely.

Overall I found it an enjoyable programme.

  • Life is good
    I have it all
    Great car
    Great house
    having a ball
    life is moving
    ahead of the game
    don’t know stillness
    But its all the same
    Got to keep moving
    Long way to go
    Its all for the child
the child who does not know...
    One more pill
    Stay awake
    One more deal
    The one to break
    Make me rich
    As rich as can be
    Another million
    And still not free
    One more smooze
    One more meet
    One more deal
    One more feat
    Make me rich
    Richer that today
    Just a little bit richer
    and I will walk away.....

  • Cherry you are an amazing woman. I am a 11 year old girl and I want to be like you when I am older. The way take on events in life is fasinating, and you are a role-model to a tone of girls.
